The Purpose of the Society is

 

• to develop and maintain the old rail line between Musquodoboit Harbour and Gibraltar Rock as a recreational hiking and biking trail.
   

• to develop trail amenities as required.
   

• to plan and construct wilderness ridge trails in the White Lake and Ship Harbour Long Lake wilderness areas
   

• to develop and manage for recreational purposes the interconnecting lake system in the White Lake and Ship Harbour Long Lake wilderness areas
   

• to manage and direct all trail planning and building activities in an environmentally responsible fashion.to cooperate with other trail groups in planning a route for the Trans Canada Trail to connect to the Musquodoboit Trailway.”
